What is the difference between HEPA filtration and ULPA filtration?
HEPA filters (high efficiency particulate air) remove 99.99% of particles down to 0.3 micron versus an ULPA filter (ultra low particulate air) removes 99.9999% of particles at minimum penetrating particle size (MPPS).

How many air changes per hour can I achieve with Guardiair?
The number of air changes per hour is driven by the cubic feet of air in the room and the Guardiair set speed. As an example, a 10’ x 20’ conference room with an 8’ ceiling is 1,600 cubic feet. One Guardiair on high at 600 cfm x 60 mins. = 36,000 cubic feet per hour. 36,000 / 1,600 = 22.5 ACH. Multiple units may be required to remove “dead” air.

How frequently should we change the prefilter and HEPA filter?
Guardiair is equipped with an indicator light that flips from green to red when it is time to change the HEPA or ULPA filter. To extend the life of your filter, routinely check and change out the Merv 8 prefilter on a monthly basis and adjust as needed for your specific environment.

How much does the Guardiair weigh and how does it ship?
The unit weighs 124 lbs and the units are crated and shipped via common carrier. Special shipping arrangements can be made when liftgates are required. No assembly is required.

Why use a germicidal UV-C light?

UV-C adds an additional element of safety by killing or inactivating microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, molds, and other pathogens.

Is Guardiair available in other colors? Guardiair is currently available in six standard colors and custom color matches are available for quantities of 50 or more. A custom color match fee may apply.

What is the lead time for fabrication?
Our current production time is four to six weeks depending on the size of the order.

What is the Guardiair made of?
Guardiair has a 14 gauge steel bottom support and the remainder of the unit is 16 gauge steel.

What is a gel seal (GS) filter and how quickly can they be replaced?
Gel seal (GS) filters are easily replaced and feature an upstream gel channel on the final filter which provides a leak-free seal between the filter and housing. We stock these filters and they typically ship within one to two days.
